Thats fine, hell I didnt even have a system when I was 17. But when you post about your stereo equipment, you are going to hear opinions, good and bad. There are some VERY knowledgable people here. Take the good with the bad and enjoy youy system.

hey all wow lots of posts, i can understand people have their different opinions and i respect them. not everyone is after the same goals. i was more concerned with looking nice and sound just good enough. as you will see after the amp a2200hct comes monday. the setup is all done and just waiting for the arrival of the amp. i dont see the big deal with people knocking on audiobahn, its your opinion and ill just deal, but i think people will like the new system once i post some pictures. thanks for all the responses

I agree. Obviously, he doesn't visit this forum often.

The fact is most of us started out with low-end systems that we thought sounded awesome I for one can say that I started with 2-10" JENSEN subs and a 150w optimus amp (radioshacks crappy version of pioneer) why.... because I didn't have a resourse like this to rely on for information. (hell, 16k internet was a new thing back then) But I learned and eventually was #3 in the midwest in my class.
I think the majority of this post is people who have learned through experience trying to keep audio newbies from making the same mistake that most of us have.. And it doesnt take 1000 a piece to make good sound. I've offered many deals on here before for new diamond audio equipment. (CM3's for $55, m6's for $130 (usually $350))

Damn, that almost exactly what I had as my first system. A Jensen 10" bass tube ($50 at Wal Mart), and a 150 watt Optimus amp. The amp was decent, it made sound, but you could fry an egg on it no matter how much air was flowing over it.
