To me the M3 is a god! Man I love that car, grew up on BMWs and at my old mans house we had a lot of great cars, he could never figure out why I wanted a beammer but was cool about it. used to help me tune my grays. I guess I liked em cause a hottie down the street had a boyfriend who drove one, he was 3 years older then I. they ended up getting married he became a good friend and I learned to drive in his car, rest is history. Dont make us look like alot pf other forums M3s will crush the SVT 99/100 times.
But I love my SVT too. I am too biased I sat through the movie at the end of the BMW factory tour in Munich. anyone else who has done this would know how hardcore I am now. Super duper teflon coated high speed low drag baby! YA!!!!!

You've beaten Typhoons and TAs? With a contour?? Did they realize that they were racing you at the time? Typhoons had a 0-60 under 5 seconds, TAs well under 6 seconds. I honestly don't think that the 3.0 with a supercharger will give either one of these cars much of a run (mainly because of traction) much less a very minimally modified SVT.

You mention that only supercars will be able to beat you. I hope that your definition of a supercar is pretty broad.

Don't get me wrong our cars are extremely nice, with very good performance for the price. But given equal drivers, could they compete with supercars, the mid 90s japanese sports cars, or even corvettes and camaros in straight line racing? Not hardly....

I think we have to keep ourselves focused on the right competition. A 95-99 M3 is a great goal to set but in practice will be extremely difficult to equal. Can it be done? Probably. What will it take? Lots of money, time, patience, and an opportunity to actually race one.

Good luck.

Sorry I misworded that, I just meant to say that I've taken those cars on and that Im not afraid to race them. An almost stock SVT beating a typhoon is ridiculous. As far as the supercar issue, Im saying that my SVT will be able to easily hang with the RX-7's, 300ZX twin turbos and Supras (which do not qualify in the supercar category) Thats what I was referring to. That post was typed in anger, sorry fellas.

Sorry but I still don't buy it. You're talking about cars pulling 60 in the mid-low 5s, quarter mile in 13s and in some cases, near 1 G of grip.... all fully stock. I think they're priced the way they are for a reason.

No offense.

Hey my grasp could be exceeding my reach but I'm using simple reasoning over here. If my SVT is already pulling 0-60 in 6.8 seconds (perhaps faster) then my logic would tell me that a 94 hp boost from the vortech supercharger would probably knock a second off that. With a few more mods, is it unreasonable to think that it's possible to get an SVT with a 0-60 time of 5 seconds? Thats just my train of thought, I'm obviously not an expert on the subject so if I'm off-base, explain...

Thanks

anything is possibol with "good traction" and a "quaife". but good luck finding one of those cars you mentioned that is stock. LOL
