Ok.... here's my story.... ford contour.... oil leak.... 4k rpms.... pshhhhhhhh.... R.I.P. Here's the detailed version: I have... had... a '95 Ford Contour V6 5spd... etc... you can check out my cardomain page. Well I checked and added oil to my car about a week ago, and appearantly the car magically used a LOT of it. Perhaps I had an oil leak that I never even knew about. Anyways, I started the car... got in 1st gear, went up to 4k rpms, the car shut down and never started back up.

Try contacting Bnoon, I know he has been looking for a 5speed tour with a blown engine to swap a 3L into so he might be interested...

Hey guys, For those of you who are interested, I will be putting it on eBay... because I really need the money now to buy a new car... I'll have to settle with a p.o.s. type of thing now...

You can find another Pre 98 Tour V6 5sp pretty cheap. It could be worth it as a cheap beater! I know that's what my car has become.
I truly believe you can't be the performance/cost ratio of these cars. Especially if you get another Pre 98 SE!
Otherwise, consider a Zetec (I4), I'm sure there available for even less.

The more I look at other cars, the more I agree with the above statement.

I agree, I realize you're in college, I was there too, but if you need a car BAD, dropping a 3L in would be best $$$$ for buck.. .looks like you have some $$$ anyways judging from what has been done already, I say spend the $1500+installation and get it done, at least you know it'll be reliable and know it wasn't abused by a different previous owner. . .
