In a race, it would be close off the line. The SVTC would pull away in the higher rpms.

Okay, I think the Shark looks pretty good, and that it's a pretty quality ride, but trading in a TROPIC CSVT for one, ummm, NO.

Not damn likely - the new 6 tib's are a match for MTX Tour V6's, just a bit behind an SVT.
Dyno comparo, my car to v6 tib:
Below 5200 it'll b pulling on me...
My brother had one shortly. That six speed gear box really helped it.
The Tib in dyno chart shown obviously has something holding it back. My guess is that the computer pulled timing for temp otherwise it would have schooled you.

How will a car rated at 170 hp school another car rated at 170 hp on a dyno???? It looks like the tib pulls hard early and appers to run out of steam while the duratec with it's nice flat tq curve keeps pulling. The extra .3L gives it higher peak tq that appears to be tuned in at the middl of it's powerband.
As for gearing, just like when you compare it to a se-r you see the tour has what looks like "6 speed gearing" minus the last overdrive.
Tib: 1st 3.15 2nd 1.94 3rd 1.33 4th 1.06 5th 0.86 6th 0.70 Final Drive Ratio 4.43
Tour: Transaxle: MTX-75 Final drive: 4.06:1 Gear Ratio 1st: 3.42 2nd: 2.14 3rd: 1.45 4th: 1.03 5th: 0.77
"total" gear tour vs tib 1st 13.88 13.95 2nd 8.69 8.59 3rd 5.89 5.89
(That is right multiplyimg gear by final drive for total multiplier right???)
And finally, weight:
Tib mtx (edmunds): 3023 Tour se mtx (ceg faq): 2910
Looks like drivers race from bench racing perspective, backed up with a dyno done at the same shop with nearly identical temps.

also the tib uses a truck engine with a limited torque curve which you can see in the dyno. Also they don't respond well to mods and traditionally are not supported very well by the aftermarket.

Ironically enough we had 3 tibs on the dyno today. They showed up with a BMW club for some reason. The heavily modded one pulled down 180hp and 180tq. The lighter moded one did 160 +. The 3rd one was supercharged with 4 psi. He did 193. It turns out that the top end sucks because of the design of the upper intake manifold. Or so those guys told me.

In my case, we were about equal off the line, but I beat him very easily.
