As for using a air intake system the has a low conductivity to reduce heat soak. My mon's 98 chrusler uses a plastic upper intake. While the Duratech uses less expensive to manufacture aluminum. If someone could mold up a plastic upper intake it would help the heat soak situation, since the aluminum conducts heat from the engine and transferrs it to the air. I actually work on plastic intakes and just wanted to correct a misconception you seem to have. The plastic intakes are actually cheaper than the Aluminium. I know this for a fact because my last job was with a company that makes both plastic and Aluminium intakes. Another bit of information that may be helpful is that the new duratech Taurus' and Escape's have a plastic upper intake.
