Hey all I am going to be buying some Enkei RS5's sometime this week and I cant decide on tires? I would like to order them from Whalentire.com and I would like to know your input on if I should run 215/40/17 or 215/45/17's. I will be only running these durring the summer/fall until it snows and then I will be using my snow set up. I would like which ever one gives me the best ride quality/handeling combo as well as visual attractiveness. I think I wold be either getting these" 215/45/17 or these: 215/40/17 Right now I have a stock Se suspenson but am considering lowering it in the future. I also have an SVT kit if that makes the visual any different. Whats your opinions....

I can't comment on the tires, but as far as size goes, go with 215/45.

That's a pretty decent tire (215/45/17 one). If you just want a radical looking tire, you may also want to look at nitto neo gens or bfg kdw's-2.

Visually I guess I was thinking more along the lines of side wall height and the 45's looking to tall..however the tread pattern being cool is always a bonus!

Go to www.1010tires.com
They have a tire review (tire rating) section along side each tire...the Falkens all get pretty high revieews

Do your research on tire rack, they have performance tested just about every tire in the same conditions, it will give you a great basis for comparison. I recommend the kumho mx of the goodyear f1 gs-3, this is the result of a lot of research.

I would get the 40s personally. Look better but not really as good of a ride. Had 35s on my 18s last year and ended up going back to 40s.

45's are slightly fat but I think 40's would be too thin, unless u had your car slammed
