A CAI is not hard and not spendy to build.
It can be built for less than the cost of the CTA intake,
it's easy to find parts, and it's easy to install.
The hardest part is opening up the fenderwell hole if you choose to, but you can leave it as-is.
What is needed;
(1) K&N drop-in filter
(4) t-bolt clamps
(1) piece of stright pipe (atleast 2 feet long)
(1) 90 degree silicone coupler
(1) 45 degree silicone coupler
(1) stock airbox
90 degree elbow on TB and 45 degree elbow on MAF, cut pipe to fit between, and drop in the K&N filter. Rip out all the
cr@p in the fenderwell.
If you choose to; completely smooth the inside of the stock airbox, plug the pcv hole on the airbox, add an air horn to the inside of the airbox, and use the remaining section of pipe to run from the airbox into the fender.
The stock intake is not an airflow restriction, it is an airflow disruption. But doing the above, you remove the disruption.
