I'll take that antiquated technology anyday. This isn't an old turd with some fine polishing. This is a tried, tested, proven engine for Chevrolet. As far as pushing that technology to it's limit, that will be the 600+ HP N/A engine that will come in the blue devil. I have to agree HP/liter is useless. Look at the power it makes, the torque it makes, then look at the fuel economy the LS1 is getting. It gets better mileage than my Focus. That's just sick.
Don't get me wrong here, I love what Ford has done with thier powerplants as well. Offering a factory supercharged engine is awesome, the idea of gaining massive HP with a belt change is great. I honestly don't see why Chevrolet doesn't adapt a twin tubo setup for thier V8 models (aside from the idea that most drivers will not be able to drive an 800hp car around too easily)
