Well, I decided to go the "extreme sport" route for my SVT, so I could be all phat and stuff.

Since it was a nice day out, I just put it on today. It's really cool. It took about 40 minutes to install without any tools, weighs about 100 lbs and I think it drops my MPG down about 3% on the highway. That's not so bad because I am not supposed to drive over 65 with this hooked up so I am told.

I had to call the manufacturer's tech support because I couldn't figure out how to strap it down right. So far I am pleased with the results and it even gets a few looks!

This thing works pretty good...I wasn't so sure about the idea of strapping 100# to my trunk, but so far it has worked out well. I can't picture having 3 bikes on there though that would be quite a load. With 2 bikes it was a bit hairy for me to stomach, but with 1 bike it was fine.

When I was driving today people driving SUVs were gawking at the setup, like "WTF is that...?"

I am kind of tempted to put a sign on the back that says "Maybe I should buy an $40,000 SUV to support my sporty and active life-style".

I picked the rack up at cactusbike.com for $100 or so...this rack goes for over $150ish at stores locally so it was a steal - even cheaper than I found used on ebay from personal sellers.
