WHat was done to the 328? As much as I love them (and all cars to bear the Cavalinno Rampante) they weren't terribly quick.
Just curious.

Very few of life's problems can not be solved with the reasonable application of more horsepower!

I couldn't begin to tell you... though I just assumed it would probably be quicker than my vette... I'm sure I'm wrong though.

I think Mark's got the pants beat off of everyone here.
I've ridden in a number of fast cars and actually managed to drive a few around the block, but the fastest streeet car I'd say I've been in was an '02 SC'd C5 coupe. The torque response was just viscious and it never ended in any gear (the driver didn't run out 6th, so I couldn't talk to it). It made my C5 feel like a damn sloth...
I'd dearly love to take a ride in some of these 900-1000HP FI'd Vipers that you occasionally see mention of in car rags. I'm not a big fan of Vipers, but there's no denying what that V-10 pushrod is capable of.

It was at GingerMan raceway about 5yrs ago, I got to ride in it for 4 laps. The car is simply insane, been in a lot of fast cars, but there's nothing like a F1.
No pics, didn't go to the track expecting to ride in anything or see anything worth while so I didn't have a camera. -Mark

Now tell us the F40 story, Mark--you actually got to drive that! Fastest I've driven is an E36 M3 coupe, MTX of course, but didn't get to wind it out much (and would have handled it with kid gloves even if I did get to push it more; not used to all that poewer on the rear wheels). After that, my SVT Contour. I've never driven a V8 or a turbo paired with a manual... I'm deprived. --T.J.
