Sounds like syncros. When was the last time you changed your tranny fluid? I put some Aamco synthetic ATF in mine, and it made a world of difference (e.g. Gear changes are smoother and if feels much more solid, and quieter). Give it a shot, it may solve your problem for now. Otherwise, when you change your clutch have your syncros checked out. Sean

Never, I just bought it about 5 months ago. It has 44,000k on it. I'll try changing the fluid. I read in the archives that I need to replace the old fluid with a new one(XT-M5-QS), which is "honey" colored instead of the original "reddish" fluid.

That's the one. I would give that a try first. It's alot better than tearing the tranny apart! Sean P.S. I used the Aamco Synthetic ATF in mine, works pretty good.
