This will be the "Unoffical Offical HSV Meet Thread". That way, we will not be hijacking threads from our friends down in Florida.

Location: Centered around Huntsville, AL.

Activites: Dyno, 1/8th mile Drag Strip, Eating at Gibson's, Driving in the mountains, hanging out at the hotel drinking beer (once settled in for the night!) and telling dirty jokes.

When: July 30 - Aug 1 (That would be on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday for those of you that are Calander Challanged!)

I take it we will be staying at the same hotel? If so, that information is...

Hotel Information

Econolodge
10013 South Memorial Parkway
Huntsville, Al
PH: 1-256-881-7620

If you would like to book your own room, that is cool, but my wife and I would be happy to assist you with this. For any first timers, my wife and I have been making the hotel arangements for all the meets that we have had in HSV. You do not have to send any money and we can get room prices below internet booking prices. Not alot, but enough to make it worth your wild. No! We do not make any money on this. We just want to make it as easy and painless as possible for everyone that can come, to be able to come.

Drag Strip information
Huntsville Drayway is a really nice 1/8th mile track. This season, they have upgraded to the newer LED style tree. We went there last time, but was only able to get in a few runs each since we got there so late. So! To combat that... We wanted to do the Midnight Madness this time. This takes place Saturday night. Gates open at 10PM, racing starts at 11PM and runs until 2AM. The scoreboards are left on and timeslips will be handed out. This is sort of like a test and tune season that runs late into the night. It is $10 to get in to either race or watch. You take your pick.

Dyno Information
The dyno that we played on last time was a Dyno Jet 224x, which is located at Trackmasters in Huntsville. Aurthr is the guy that is in charge of the dyno and he is great. Prices for runs can be found on the trackmasters site here. Let's try to get as many as possible this time. If not, then Hector and I will just have to have all the fun!!

I will once again organize this, so if there are any other questions about the dyno... you can contact me through PM or just post them here.

Since Midnight Madness is on Saturday night, I was wondering if everyone would want to do the dyno on Saturday or just do it Friday afternoon, like last time? Only reason I ask this, is because last time, we got held up leaving home and it put us cutting things really close getting into Huntsville. I don't want to take the risk of that happening again, but I will leave it up to the majority though.

So far, I think that is about all that we have locked in stone. But these activities will be what everything else will be worked in around. Have I left anything out? Are the dates good for everyone? We still have plenty of time to work out any kinks and add new stuff. I guess the only thing I would like to add is a Mod Day, so maybe we can make Friday afternoon and Friday Night Mod day?

So... Who's coming?? Who's planning on coming??

I'll be there, at least for a day. I'll have to wait a lil bit longer to see about the job at Tweeter, ya know.

Aw the kids will be ok on their own for a day or so. Besides, if you're always saving 'em, how are they gonna learn to swim?!

If its in July or August, I'm either going to be at AFROTC FT ('air force reserve officer training corps' field training' for the acronymically challenged) or at home working, or in Memphis hangin' with the old lady. If I'm not at Field Training, there's always the possibility that I can ask off or whatnot and take a Field Trip. But you never know.

So all that up there ^^^ means is I really have no idea if I can come or not. So there.

Peace

Jed

Oh, and I prolly wouldn't do the dyno, since i have NO power mods on my car, so it would, with nearly 98.5k miles on it, prolly end up returning a hp/torque number lower than what it origionally came with.

So there's that, too.

Peace

Jed

you never know, its always fun to do stuff like that to see where you are at on your car. plus there are alot of mods that you can do that will not cost that much money. phillip (unisys12) is doing it again... he doesn't have anything but the intake on his, so its something to think about ya know.
