Does anyone know which oxygen sensor is code 172? My book (Haynes) is non specific. This is a 95 V6. Also get codes 112 and 522. Hate to change 4 sensors if I only need one. Are all 4 sensors the same type?

Perhaps you missed while reviewing FAQ section: FAQ , then follow link to 3 digit codes.
On RWD convention calls for orientation from driver's position, so the right cylinder bank is on pass. side of car. On our FWD cars engine rotated 90 degrees right so right bank moves next to firewall where it's also now known as the rear bank.

You can take a little relief in the fact that since you have a '95, you only have two o2 sensors. I wouldn't mess with replacing only the one that is giving you the code though. Chances are the other one is not working well either. You'll notice a jump in gas mileage when you change them.
