It was the only time I heard my tires chirp.) Anyway, the gold SHO's rear end swung out one direction, then the opposite direction, and the other direction again, and he kissed the gaurd rail. He was 2 cars behind me entering the turn. I got a chance to look in my rearview about 10 seconds after the turn and noticed nobody behind me... The mishap was nothing too major, but it sure shook him (us) up.

Roger - we're hoping for a mid-summer run again. We'll see you there.

That was me... My back end swung out and I corrected it. As soon as I did the whole car started to plow and I turned a little more to compensate. My back end decided to swing out again and the whole car slid into the ail. I saved it for the most part and I'm pretty lucky I hit it the way I did(not much damage at all.)

The tranny was ran dry when I bought the car... Also the trannys that I went through were pieces of crap(SLO tranny and a puegot tranny in a jeep)...

Plato - Was that the guy they were talking about w/ all the trannies? He did go a good roasting burnout, though...

Yep that was me...

I'm sure some of you think I'm a bad driver and I don't care. I know the abilities of myself and my car. I also know that If I break things I can replace them... The trannys that I have broken were known to have problems within 10,000 miles of being bought(The Jeep tranny blew up as early as 7,000 and the earliest SLO tranny blew up at IIRC 15,000 or 20,000. The SHO tranny that I lost was ran completely dry by the previous owner and that's why it grenaded.) I replaced my tranny and have not had problems with it since. When I rebuilt the SLO tranny it lasted another 70,000 miles before I sold the car. You can tell me all day long that you think I'm a bad driver but I know differently. I know MY limits and I know what I can do. That's more than I can say for a lot of drivers in Colorado(not meaning anything to you guys just a lot of people in colorado can't drive). The guy in the grey countour almost lost it as well and he was going slower than me. Ihe guy in front of me even said that he saw me correct it and then saw my whole car plowing. Say what you will...

Ya man im glad your ok. After I noticed that nobody but my cars twin was in rear-view, I turned around thinking to find something horrible.
I believe it was the driving skills that allowed him to come out with only very very very minor damage.
The corner was covered in sand with only two strips of clean road where tires were going through it. Anybody could have lost it, and I was sure to say a prayer of thanks afterwards.
I have to say, that was the greatest way to suck through a full tank of gas in 5 hours.

I was just trying to get stories straight, not commenting on your skills what-so-ever. Actually, if anything, I was commenting on your burnout skills...

More than anything, I'm glad you're safe and unharmed. I know I could have been kissing that gaurd rail had I braked .01 seconds later. So, not to worry, Scott. We're glad you came, and we're glad you're ok.

91Taurus, didn't mean to insult your driving, I just know that when I took my racing course it probably helped me more than any modifications could, and it also helps you to compensate for any car flaws. I'm sure you are a great driver, actually I know, cuz that was one sick burnout, and from what I hear about that turn, You recovered well. My apologies for the misinterpretation - Chris

As long as we learn from our mistakes, we become better drivers.
