any one have a tip on removing the lens from a 98+ tour tail light...you can't cut it apart like the headlights because the piecs overlap..
also...a while back i read a post where someone said that they removed the reflector from the 98+ headlights w/o drilling. if anyone has info on this method please share it here.
your expert advice is appreciated

I have no idea what you are talking about with the taillights, but as for the headlights, here is what I did, and it works like a charm:
1. Get a long screw driver and tape the [censored] out of the end.
2. Remove the bulbs and enter with the screwdriver through one of them.
3. Pry the reflector out of its tabs. It is glued in and will take some muscle. You should not do any harm to the inside of your light because the screwdriver should be taped well.
4. Once you get it out, turn the light upside down and the reflector will fall onto the hole. Use needlenose pliers to go through the hole and snap the reflector into pieces.
5. Dump the reflector out, vaccuum the inside of the light, and you are good to go.
Some people say this doesn't work for some reason or another, but I did this method personally and it worked 100%. Took me less than 10 minutes. Good luck...

Dunno, very few people have done it. If it were me i would use a thin blade small handsaw at first i guess. Along one of the edges make a slit til you get through the red lense, then see how muck space there is between red and clear, then go from there. Maybe use a dremel or continue to use a hand saw and break away pieces of the red lense constantly? Just be careful, lotsa light and a steady hand. So i hear the clear lense is brittle and pretty thin, what are you gonna do about that? Put some coating or clearcoat? Take lotsa pics when u do it. Good luck.

For the taillight, are you wanting the lens to remain intact?

Did you invest in an extra set of tail lights by any chance? that would be my first step to removing the lens

1) amarv12, my intention is to make a whole new lens, not reuse any piece of the oem....are you saying theres two lenses in there?
2) yes i bought an extra set....
3) yes, i want the lens to stay intact so i can make a mold from the inside, so i get oem fit on the new piece....i though about just making my mold from the outer shape of the lens....but then the radius' of the new lens will be different the oem....wich i don't want, but i might just have to live with.
i know you did a set of tails a while back, any tips would be great.
thanks
