ok - so ever since I took out my buddy's C5 (2002 w/420HP) I've been dying to get one...

anyone know of any good sites???

eBay seems decent, but are there any wholesalers, or resellers that specialize?

not up for a new one @ $54K, but used '02s are going for $21-$30K!!!

I would be careful when buying a sports car that was (reletively) inexpensive when it was new. Younger owners buy them, tear the streets up with them, and sell them after putting them through a hard life. I would try to find a stock Z06 in red or black (they hold value the best) in a classified section of your local newspaper, or even a close-to-home listing in a publication such as "Autoweek". The best Corvette owner is an old man or woman that would not have abused it. Be wary of the 1997 pace cars, many are fakes. The plain targa version shimmies when the top is not in, so your best bet would probably be a 02-03 Z06, they had 405hp, but the 01 only had 385hp. For the price of a Z06, you could buy a used Viper GTS with 450hp and a V10.

www.corvetteforum.com

Check the used/for sale forum. Vettehound is another good site to check.

The '01 Z06 was underrated at 385HP; it's pulling close to what the later models are. Plenty of dynos have proven this...

If I was in the market for a used Vette, it would be a low-mileage '01-02 Z06. Anything earlier on a C5, you need to check/ask about oil consumption as there was a head redesign due to oil blowby issues on later models. Didn't effect all Vette's, but it did seem to hit quite a few of them.

As Toadster said, check out www.autotrader.com
...and by the way that is where I bought my Tour prior to knowing about CEG.

Why even type this? Even if you were being facetious, it's not funny. And if you were being remotely serious, you need help.

02 vette
check this one out, it's at a wholesaler in connecticut, i used to live pretty close to it and it seems like a good place. If you dont like that one they will find you what you want. I have heard they are harder to find in a 6spd and this only has 6K on it!

LOL

at this point it's a "wish-for" car, i was amazed at the C5, 24MPG around town and torque! My buddy told me to get on it, and i did... looked down and was doing 120 in 4th at about 5000rpm!!! YIKES! the thing redlines around 7K and there are TWO more gears!!!
