www.partsexpress.com

direction is critically important with the neos, you have to be in the horizontal plane, or you lose a majority of the high end.

You could also check out the neo3 for a smaller version.

As i said, putting em in the a-pillar or on the higher part of the dash.. that's basically on the same horizontal plane as we could get in our cars laugh

Not really, the A pillar is on an angle that would make the horizontal plane of the driver aim down at your seat. If you go above or below the speaker, the response drops substantially.

This picture shows the side view of the dispersion pattern of a flat panel driver, followed by the front view, and finally the top view.

As you can see, the vertical dispersion is very small. Getting out of the horizontal plane make the high freq drop substantially. So if it were in a home speaker and it was ear level when sitting, standing would make a substantial differnce, but moving left or right would not.

In this picture, it shows the dispersion again and the optimum speaker placement. The Driver could rotate along the curve without any response problems, but simply moving it up and down would not be good.

So how about that location on the dash? Right in the corners of the windshields?? I would think that, those would be nice places to put them. Especially if you could angle them toward the listener. That's the place where i've been planning to put tweeters, but never did because I was too lazy. . Well, but also, angling them a bit toward the driver/listener. Sound like a good theory?

if mounted at the correct angle couldn't you still get the sweet spot if they were in the stock location.

I got it! take out the seatbelts and put them on the B Pillar!!

Don't even consider the B-pillar, the soundstage would be destroyed along with the drivers left ear and the passengers right ear.

If you do some sort of dash install, they would have to be either standing straigt up and aimed right at you, or somehow configured to bounce off the windshield. If these speakers aren't aimed right at you or close to it, they won't perform well.
