Don't even consider the B-pillar, the soundstage would be destroyed along with the drivers left ear and the passengers right ear.
If you do some sort of dash install, they would have to be either standing straigt up and aimed right at you, or somehow configured to bounce off the windshield. If these speakers aren't aimed right at you or close to it, they won't perform well.
