Yes, the new Panasonic deck uses Tripath Class T chips for amplification. It's the same technology as the Blaupunkt Class T amps (high power, tiny size, no heat) which were recently discontinued appearantly due to a licensing agreement expiring with Tripath.

If you can wait a year, I think we'll see many more head units available with this sort of built-in power of 50+ watts per channel of rms output. I'm guessing a true 100x4 rms head unit isn't too far off.
