Well I got impatient and couldn't sleep a wink so I decided I would put use the Tours' old wiring and hook up the NEO8s... Mean Green's wiring, as some of you know, was a horrible mess and so is the Focus' at this point but I could care less laugh It works and will not start on fire so I'm happy for now. Anyways I got the PG amp hooked up, and ran the speaker cable (took not even 5 minutes) and hooked up the NEO8s.

I had it set to what used to be mid volume with my Alpine SPR-175A components and turned the key. I swear I almost went deaf and scrambled for the volume knob... the amp is set to it's highest sensitivity and it was still ear numbingly loud. Funny thing was even with that volume it was clearer than anything I've heard before. I threw in a CD I know very well and heve listened to a billion time on various stereos (Soul Asylum... memories... frown )

Anyways I heard things I never did before on this CD. Everything is so clear...

Now the bad news... I REALLY need some 8s because these things are not touching it. I am also going to have to decide how my chair is going to be permanently set because they dissapear (exagerating)when you move too much out of thier path.

All in all I would have to say thumbs up with a **** eating grin and sore ears laugh

Once again listening to that giant headed freak Newman has paid off... can he do no wrong? confused

Okay, I could be wrong or a little off but here is what I understand it to be.

Here is the basic construction:

first is the front grille, then the first set of magnets, then the film, the second set of magnets, then the rear grille

the magnets are arranged so that the negative sides are facing each other (you know how if you try to put two magnets together with the same sides facing each other they push away from each other?) creating a field that pushes the film away from the magnets. the same thing is being done on the other side, which causes the film to be suspended naturally (thus thier efficiency) Also, they are naturally shielded. Despite being basically a big magnet, I can hold the transducer up to my monitor without worry of ruining it because it is naturally shielded (since the magnets face eaach other they cancel each other out)

When power is run through, the magnet's field is increased on one side and increased in the other direction on the opposite side, thus, one side pushes the film away while the other pulls it.

I hope that made some kind of sense smile

Only $90? Even if that's each (I assume it is) that is still one hell of a deal!

$40 something US each, 90 total plus shipping. But the price has gone up since then to $62.68 each at parts express. Considering they make my Alpine components sound nasty in comparison I'd say yeah that's a good deal smile

What's the dimensions on those things again? too lazy to search. I'm thinking now of putting that in my contour either in the A-pillars or in that plastic thing in the dash (right by the a-pillar). I might have to get another pair of 8" mids though?? I've already got the amp.. i just need the specs laugh
