I picked up peel and seal for my install project (currently a disaster-in-progress), but realized when I picked it up off the shelf that it has a really foul asphalty odor. I know a lot of people have used this stuff (or similar) in their doors, and I wanted to know if it creates a persistent smell inside the car. I'd rather deal with not having the tightest sounds from my door speakers if it means escaping a headache from the asphalt smell of the peel and seal.
On a related note, assuming it doesn't have an overwhelming smell after initial installation, where should I be putting it? Do I have to peel back the foamy liner thing attached to the door, and will that stick back to the black gooey stuff if I take it off? Am I going to need to put on more of the black gooey stuff, and if so, what on earth is it?
