They're going to suck if people do 5k rpm launches etc. Everyone talks about how much the MTX-75 sucks too yet there are planty of CEG'ers with 100k + miles. I would imagine also, given that most WRX owners are young that a lot of them just have poor (or no) skill when driving a stick.

Agreed! You look around here, and there are few people with MTX-75 problems in cars other than the SVT. And as we all know, this is suppose to be the weak point in our drivetrain!

You think about the majority of problems we hear about, and its mostly clutch issues. Again, I have to blame the driver for those. I've got 185k HARD miles on my tour (most shifts above 5-6k), and no problems with the transmission yet. I believe it to be the original clutch too!

Ok, one problem, but I think it was a fluke. I had the axle seal blow out, and the axle actually fell out of the transmission. My tranny guy really hasn't seen that happen before.
