I was wondering if anyone has explored the possibilty of putting the svt focus 6 speed tranny in a contique. I have a 95 2.5l mytique with an atx and am looking into swapping to a stick, just wondering if it would be a worthwhile project.

I dont want to burst your bubble, but its kind of a waste of time. Very expensive, and very hard to do.

The Duratec will not bolt up to the tranny, because the Focus uses the Zetec.

What about just the 5 speed swap. Is it still too much trouble. I dont know what would be invovled in swaping the pedals and all.

Its pretty much a straight swap. If your buying all these parts new, better break into that 401K early.

1. crossmember
2. right side intermediate shaft. The one that goes directly into the tranny. The other is okay.
3 left side half shaft
4. Clutch kit (duh) make sure it comes with the slave cylinder/throw out bearing combo.
5. flywheel
6. bolts for clutch-flywheel
7. ASSEMBLY of clutch and brake pedal. ITS ALL ONE UNIT AVAILABLE FROM FORD!!!! dont let them tell you diffrent. YOU CANNOT SIMPLY ATTACH THE CLUTCH PEDAL. The unit comes with both pedals, bracketing, slide pins AND the MASTER CLYINDER~@@!!!!! and its only like $140
8. upper AND lower clutch hydrolic lines.
9. motor mount that bolts to the FRONT of the tranny.
10. motor mount that bolts to the BACK of the tranny.
11. motor mount that bolts the REAR of the crossmember.... the front one is the same....
12. motor mount on DRIVERS side that bolts to the fender area.
13. Shift tower... also available as an ASEMBLY from your dealer.
14. Shift cables...
15. 18 hours of HARD labor....
16. 3 quarts of Mobil one synthetic ATF
17. 4oz bottle of Ford friction modifier.
18. Umm... the tranny.
19. Vehicle Speed sensor for mtx.
20. A 134Kohm resistor (i think... ill check for sure if you need exacts) Pm me and ill tell you where this goes... else you get a 4200rpm rev limiter
21. MTX EEC.... NO... you DO NOT need one... sorry people... my car doesnt have one... you will of course get a check engine light.... im 99% done with a unit that sends false signals to the eec to make it "think" the tranny is there...

In an area where simply having a CEL causes you to fail emissions tests and thusly voids your vehicle's registration, yes you do need one.
