my sony was doing this, when it when to hit really hard the radio would turn off then back on

I had the ground originally throught the factory harness, I moved it to a independent group near the steering column and that fixed the problem

Most manufacturers have low-end decks which do not have a subwoofer preout. It's a selling feature which gives customers a reason to step up to the next model.

That's why the amp has a gain and bass boost control on it. Other than my sony HU occasionally cutting in and out in below 60 degree temps, it works pretty well.

my amp has a bass control on it...but it wasn't making any difference

the HU was just making it sound weird, u would've had to hear it yourself...but it wasn't pretty sounding.

Right now I've just got the rear speakers playing and now I realize how much those stockers suck ass...

I've yet to pull off the door panels and take a look at the speakers...but once I get everything working...I'll just deal with the little bass.

I'm not into car audio enough to be going through all this stress

I was installing one of my friends systems and i put the remote(amp turn on) in the back of the deck, but i put it in the hole for an actual remote(like a remote control) and it is a positive and it must have touched the casing, which is negative, and blew it. Hope i can help.

it made sense to me, I don't know how a postive wire could cause that much damage

but I know I have the remote wire hooked up correctly

the deck itself is fine NOW...the problem has moved on to what happened to the speakers.
