The B&M is a "shorter" shifter in the fact that the throws are shorter. Think shifting an 80's toyota pick up, know how long the throws are. It is only because the shifter is taller.
The steeda is what people consider a true short shifter in the fact that it actually changes the length below the pivot point, but it is taller above the pivot point. Making the throws between the 2 almost the same.
