I have the Vifa D26NC-55-06 tweets that are 6 ohms, and the Vifa PL 7" woofers that are 4 ohms. I want to get the JBL P80.4 amp to run them without a xover for awhile until I can afford a PPI 456(havent yet decided). My question is how do I wire them to get the most out of the amp to power them? Thanks Alot Guys, -Matt

Bridge the tweets into the bridged front channel (3ohm load) and bridge the mids into the bridged rear channel(2ohm load). That way depending on what deck you have and how you have it hooked up you can use the Xover adjustments on the deck until you get your x-over The amp is rated 160x2 @ 4ohms so this will give you a 5ohm load total. 40w to each of the mids and probably around 35w to the tweets. hope this helps

I wouldn't bridge anything, the tweeters are more sensitive than the mids.
You should be better off running each tweeter on its own chanel and each mid on its own chanel. This will give you 40w each to the mids and around 27w each to the tweets, but it doesn't really matter because you will have individual control over the gains and be able to control the level so that they blend well.
I have the same drivers as you on passive crossovers recieving 75w rms each side and they are loud as fook and still sound excellent.
Something else to note: The PL7 mids will take some time to break in and really sound powerful, but when they do, you will be very pleased!
Something else to note: Sound deadening will be needed!

wups, I think I was looking at the wrong amp specs. now looking at the correct specs. Yeah, no need to bridge.

The crossover frequency on that amp is variable between 32hz to 320Hz. This is nowhere near high enough to run the tweets safely. I'd suggest either getting some passives, that PPI 456, or an Audiocontrol 2XS (about $30 off ebay) and get the right frequencies going to your drivers before you fry your tweets.

i think you'll lose stereo if u bridge them. just run the drivers each off a channel. u can use an fmod 2500 or 3500hz hipass for about $26/pair and the lowpass versions combined w/ the amps high pass to create the bandpass for the pl7s.
