The Steering wheel on my 98 Contour SE is all chipped and is losing it's paint. It's getting progressively worse and I have been looking into getting a leather wrap steering wheel cover -- not a slip on Leather steering wheel cover mind you, but an actual leather wrap that will be sewn onto the wheel (the stiching is done on the inside of the wheel). They are a little more expensive, but have more of a factory look to them. In any event, I purchased two different leather covers that claim to be "extra-wide" and neither fits properly. Although they each cover the wheel diameter-wise, neither of them stiches up very well b/c of the thickness of the steering wheel.

Has anyone had this problem before and if so, can you suggest a brand or type of cover that would do the trick?

Thanks!
