It is a flat speaker for the Focus, It's about 10 mm thick, 8" tall, and 3" wide. It is called the Neo8 smile

Its the Neo8 from BG. It will play from about 500hz to 20000hz eliminating the need for a midrange in his application, he will be running a midbass crossed over at 500-600hz to the planar drivers.

if its so thin, maybe you could mount it ON your dash rather than in it, to reduce damage to your dash, or attach them to the pillars somehow. im having trouble picturing how big they are tho. where are your speakers now?

or, this would be CRAZY, but maybe you could mount them in your visors, like people mount lcds. id imagine it wouldnt be the safest or sturdiest environment for a speaker, but it would sure be cool! and you could move them around when you want to. i wonder how that would effect imaging....probably too much distance between drivers to be a good idea...probably some reason its not even possible though. yes, this part is me daydreaming...

I'd either mount it on the dash somewhere, or a-pillar, or make kickpanels. Whatever satisfies your ears! laugh

I wan't them as far from my ears as possible, and have decided to try something very different for the install.

The speaker will go on the trim panel located where most people would put kickpanels. Since a planar speaker needs no enclosure I am thinking of mounting it out in the open

I would get some stainless steel bolts and nuts, and the speaker would be adjustable by turning the bolts until I find the right angle, then I will glass around the speaker making it flush with the panel smile Kick panels without the work laugh

Actually, the speakers would work if you built them into a visor, they are light (even though they are all steel) but they would also sound like ass. A big thing with these is that they will have to be aimed properly or it will sound nasty. Right now the Focus has the same speaker setup Contour's did, four door speakers. These are 8" tall, and 3" wide so They would be a little big for the A pillars also they are ugly so in the footwells they go laugh
