The 2.00 drivers aren't really tweeters, more like full range drivers.

I haven't used the midbasses but the measured freq response is remarkably smooth. The 8 ohm impedance could be an issue if you plan on using it for car audio, but if you are planning a little home system, they are an excellent choice.

The tweeters are pretty nice, but the best budget tweeter I have come across is this one.

hows this sound to you all as far as a nice, inexpensive setup?....

2 stryke 1" soft dome tweets ($7 each)
2 stryke 7" woven glass fibre mids ($14.95 ea)
2 homemade crossovers (approx $7.50 ea)
1 DWO 12" sub (the one suggested by dave)($37.64)
--------
total: $96.54

i already have the reciever and will be making the enclosures myself. my goal is the best bang for the buck. on a scale of 1 to 10, how good of a setup would you say this is for $96? if it looks good to you, how could you complain for under 100 bucks, right? smile

Seems like a deal.

The only bad part is the 8ohm impedence of the Stryke drivers. However, you could solve this problem by using a 4ch amp. Bridge 1/2 for the right components and bridge 3/4 for the left components. A 50x4 amp should be more than sufficient and cost around $100-150 for a good amp.

I think it would be a great little set up for the money. Here is an alternative for you though.

http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshowdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=290-308

I have read great reviews and its virtually "made" for a free air installation with its high Qts and low VAS.
Plus, it's got that 4 ohm load....Keep the stryke tweets, though.
