I can hear the motor running, but the antenna doesn't move up and down. I did a search here and came to the conclusion that I probably just need to replace the mast. But, until then, shouldn't I disconnect the motor so that it is not trying to run? Where is it located?

Guess that was a stupid question now that I read your post :new guy hides in shame:.
I guess what I really meant to ask is can I disconnect the motor for now, or does the signal from the antenna to the radio pass through the same harness? I want to still be able to use my radio.
Pardon me if any of this sounds too stupid. I actually am somewhat mechanical in nature, but I just got this SVT home tonight and don't know any of the specifics of it yet.

You can just disconnect the top plug on the antenna assy. until you get a replacement mast.
In the trunk, open up the trunk lining on the passenger side, and voila- the antenna assembly. On the assy, you'll see 2 connectors, one near the mast, and one near the motor. Disconnect the top plug (near the mast). I actually did try each of them separately, & both stopped the motor from whirring up & down. I don't know what each does on its own, though. Maybe an inline antenna amp?...

So, you don't think I can just replace the mast? Or am I not reading into you comments right?
