I think killing cones will not kill the engine because the right hand cornering is not sustained for a long time.
Now some road tracks or cloverleafs are another story.
Seems most occurrences happen from taking cloverleafs at high rpm levels.
This is made worse by that fact that running the engine just a few OUNCES low on oil will cause a tremendous increase in the chance for this to happen. (I.E. religiously monitor your oil level)
I would still recommend an accusump for any serious autocrosser or road racer. That's the only way an engine with the 2.5L heads is not going to risk it IMO.
