No respectable amp (Besides those new Blau's ) would have a plastic heat sink, not to mention the "windows" of plexi so thin you could mistake them for celophane. haha...well, you have a point there, they have the 3000d, i think that is the model #, that has the same internals as the Lanzar Vibe 1200D, which is a pretty nice sub amp.

I had a BOSS 210x2 amp pushing 2 10's for probably 8 years with no problems. It worked like a charm.

My brother had a Boss 600 pushing 2 RF Punch 12's in separate bandpasses. It actually didn't sound too bad... when it worked. Plus, it wasn't any louder than the Punch 60 he had pushing them before. The Boss CAN max at 600w, but RMS, the only thing that matters because that's what you're gonna be getting, is like, 3, or something rediculous like that. Plus, it was always shorting, always blowing fuses, and just generally wasn't worth the beer sledge it got thrown away with. My advice--- go to Best Buy, Circuit City, or Crutchfield, and look for scratch & dent or returned items. I got a Pioneer 400w that had been returned for $280, a good $100 or so off. Don't run, don't sprint, but do a massive burnout and DRIVE away from that Boss!

It is funny. Everybody that is into car audio says Boss makes bad amps. I have had one for about 10 years and that amp has NEVER had a problem. I have owned a few Boss amps and NEVER had a problem. I have had more problems with the "high end" amps than the "low end" amps. I think Boss makes some respectable, dependable amps. Just because it is not a brand name doesn't mean it is bad. Don't knock it until you try it.

Most of the confusion about the lower end amps come from their misleading power claims. As long as the user knows the actual capabilities and doesn't have unrealistic expectations, they can work quite well. I you are expecting to get a 4000w amp, your being misled.

OK, I should clarify, if you buy a Boss amp that says it produces 3000w with Class A/B technology and weight 7 lbs....you are being misled.
