if you have a sitck man, you can expect it to get full perfomance out of regular shifting, you have to take your shifting to the max man. Usually the main thing to slow times down is the flywheel, because your engine needs to jump back down a couple thousand RPM's when shifting. I know with my 96GL on the 2.0L Zetec it takes a second before the RPM's are dropped down, which is normal on pratically all stock 4 cylender engines.
