I heard a pound of rotating mass was equal to 7-10 lbs of dead mass.

My friend from hs has 3 probes (well each of his brothers have one a piece) Two of them are GT's. His brother ran a 16.1 at the track and it has next to everything done to it, NA of course and no NOS. Greddy exaust, headers, superchip, ssr wheels, intake, ported and polished intake manifold, full suspension, some fancy computer, and a bunch of other stuff i don't remember, and yeah he only ran a 16.1 with a 93 GT. My friends is a 94 and he has exaust, intake, better cams, i might be forgetting some things, but he was always like a car or so behind his brother when they would race. I"m not sure why i never raced him, we always talk about going to the track but never do. He's got great low end but after second gear there isn't much. A csvt should take a probe gt if it doesn't have the jap engine in it, that is assuming that the race is long enough for the csvt to pull away with its top end....

Plus you have to know how far out that mass is on the wheel.

no way in hell will a contour svt even STOCK lose to a probe gt 93 and up with bolt on mods.. the guy definately had nitrous or a turbo..
I use to OWN one and it was SLOW as all get out.. a stock CSVT will RAPE a 164hp yes 164 not 160 Probe GT or MX-6 which is a hair slower. Probe Gt's 93up do NOT respond well to any bolt on mods.. There are a few turbo kits and of course nitrous.. other than that NO WAY!

Unless the CSVT driver cannot drive to save his life..

I have owned BOTH cars, modded 93PGT and a ModdedCSVT

Stock CSVT > Modded PGT

93up PGT stock 0-60 7.5 1/4 15.7

doesnt surprise me man, My brother had a 94 Probe GT with a 5 Speed, That thing was faster then my mom's 200HP 98 Grand Prix. The Probe is more areodynamic, lighter, and the transmission is geared for higher torque. Id imigine the Borla Exhaust added about 15+ horsepower.

on the record i had a ride in his probe and it seem to have more low end power and also it had no rev limitter on it the damn thing goes to 8500 grand. and i can't go past 6700, i wish i knew why he got me my 3rd gear is gone it grinds like hell, none the less i lost and it's no big deal to me because you win some and lose some.

if he can rev that high I would imagine he sent his puter to superchips.. pgt arent like svt's, all of them have to send their computers to them and it was a [censored] to take it out as it was located deep in the center of the dash. They do not rev to 8500 stock.

back in the day Sport Compact Car did a Project Probe GT.. they did some mods to that car with no significant power gains and got so frustrated that they dumped the project. The only gains were that of an unorthodox pulley which gained them 3-4 fwhp.. thats it.. exhaust etc didnt do krap.. same experience i had with mine..

knight industries eventually made a cool turbo kit for the car..

There's no way a stock SVT should lose to a PGT. I think you just need driving lessons.

Also, there is no way a stock or 'chipped' PGT motor will run to 8500RPM. I'm pretty sure at 7500RPM that motor has valve float.

One of my friends had a PGT that ran 14.40's on a 60 shot of NOS with an aftermarket muffler. I saw it with my own two eyeballs.
