the 5spd probes and mx6's are quite a good fight. "160hp" is underrated and the cars weigh in around 2800 I think. I see them at the track running in the mid 15s with the basic muffler and air filter.
Top end wise I do not think they will hang with a csvt. But they are WAAAY better off the line.

I ran against a 89 (I think) gt. The 4 cyl with the turbo. It was very closely matched to me back when I was running 16's flat. Given the car had 140000miles on it. I was pretty impressed.

How heavy are those 18" rims? I have a theory that heavy rims will make a BIG difference. Shoot, when I go from my stock wheels (22lbs each) to my summer wheels (16lbs each) I notice a HUGE difference! Car is MUCH faster with the summer wheels! Keep in mind my summer and winter wheels are both 15", the weight savings alone makes a difference.

Well I just checked the stats on those Konig Holes 18x7.5's, they're about 21.6lbs, so, maybe thats not it since that's about what stock 16" wheels weight I think. Must've been the weight of the audio stuff

I don't care about the excuses, that's plain SAD. Your SVT is putting down 40more horses than that probe, and the weight differential isn't that much. . .their gearbox is ass, the the probe is just crap, UNLESS he has something else in there, you should've had him plain and simple. . .

one pound on the wheel acts as if there was four pounds in a seat.
so we take your 22-16 get 6
6 x 4 = 24 24 x 4 = 96lbs.
for every 100lbs you gain you lose roughly 10hp in speed.
so there is probly a 10hp difference. Which is a noticable gain or loss.
