At least not Visteon, ie: the new 2.7L diesel Jag option, system controls, electronics and development is Delphi's???? Specs 206 Hp, 360 ft-lb. @1800 and 40.3 mpg overall and at steady state interstate 47.3 mpg. Everyday I run into new technology that would beclean enough to satisfy most Americans, but not the EPA?? Ie 2007 regs update. Someone besides our government is controlling the EPA?
Just because something gets 47.3 MPG doesn't mean it's any better than Unleaded Gasoline.
"Better" on your pocketbook -- yeah. But not better on the environment.
Diesel, by it's very nature, burns very very poorly. It's gotten better, but the EPA continues to outpace its' developments with new regulations.

Just some food for thought folks. This is a great country and I'd like to see it stay that way for our grand children.
I think that's the EPA's main concern....
Your grandchildrens 'right' to live in a world where they walk outside without getting acid rain on their heads is probably a little more important than their 'right' to buy cheap fuel.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but the "400 F" struck my memory of yesterday.
Its actually closer to $40K w/ the Hemi and with AWD (available later this fall) it will cost in the mid $40's, but still, what would you rather have for that money, a Lincoln LS w/ its 3.9L V8 and 280 hp or a 5.7L Hemi V8 w/ 340 hp...YEAH, ME TOO Also, did you see the 1/4 mile numbers for that car, 14.2 at 98 mph...WOW! and thats with a 2.82 final drive

Need to check into the Common rail technology. GM owes the U.S. a get aware campaign after that disaster in the late 70's.
Had a lawyer response to me a few days ago, that he read in the Wall Street Journal about the head of California CARB had embraced the Common Rail diesel. Maybe hope.

It's friggin tight looking. I went to Lochmoor Chrylser dealership and they priced the 300C Hemi with every availble option (non awd... not availble yet, like you said), with tax was $36,928. and some change. Too bad they aren't leasing... cause a $910/ month payment($4000 cash down, $1000 rebate, $500 loyalty, and A tier credit, mind you) for a chrysler just doesn't seem right. They still look bad a$$, though. I'd rock one over a Bentley (strange to say that, it seems. )

I'm definately not a fan of the styling of the 300c, it's too darn ugly. But for those of you who do, I hope you caught the test drive that aired on SPEED tonight. Ironic how I'm discussing the 300C in my 300th post Frightening how I amaze myself with this silly a$$ crap
