Did a search but couldn't come up with anything. Spun a rod bearing on my 98 SVT awhile back...got the crank machined, and instead of welding up and grinding only the affected rod journal to stock specs (as I told them to do 10 times), they machined all the rod and main journals to .010, and at a cost of $256!!! I know, I got bent over...

Question is, do they make oversized bearings for these cars? I can't find a source ANYWHERE. I checked the only Clevite catalog I could find, and came up with nothing.

Please someone tell me I don't have to buy a new crank...

what shop did the turning of the crank??? they should have the bearings that you need.. if not then they should know where to get them... if they dont then why would you take the crank to a place that does not have supplies for the work they do????

I am rebuilding my engine 2.5L. I just had my crank turned at .10 under. It case me total 80 dollars. Those ole boys should be shot. I thought mine was high, I found another place that did it for 50 dollars.

I just purchased these bearings today from a local engine rebuilder. The rod .10 under were from Sealed Power and the mains were from Federal Mogul. Rods were about 29 dollars and the mains were 39 dollars.

Try www.autopartsgiant.com I would have ordered them there but I was in a rush. Make sure you get the bearings for the 2.5L Ford Duratec engine. - not the Mazda engine they are NOT the same.
