Even with the stock factory "premium audio" amp?

NOT the POS factory amp. New HU + amp bypass = much, much better sound.

to answer walien's question about the factory amp...not sure my car had a clarion cd head unit in it when i bought it..it has way too much power for the factory speakers...the former owner removed his amp and subs frown (i can see where they were mounted)but the clarions built in amp was too much for the factory speakers...the infinity's sound great, and can handle the power..so i'm sure they will work fine with the factory amp..

Are there any guides on how to bypass the factory amp? My Clarion pushes 50*4 max, so it'd be much better than the POS factory amp.

Call Crutchfield (888) 955-6000 and ask for their amp bypass kit (it's vehicle specific). It costs $20 or so and is well worth it.

the amp bypass is just a wiring harness that connects to the wiring where the factory amp hooks to..it was necessary in older ford premium sound stereos, when an aftermarket hu was used..by all means you will want to bypass the factory amp if using an aftermarket hu...

Well, I am alredy using a Clarion unit, but I bought a harness that has a little rectangular black box, which I think, retains the factory amp (am I correct?). On it, it has 4 little holes, where you can make some kinda adjustments. Now, if I get the factory amp bypass harness (It'll be much better with the HU power, correct?), do I have to do any major rewiring? Or will it just be as simple as installing all the other harnesses?
