I have never used my cig lighter. I was wondering how the ring around it lights up. I know it comes on when i turn the parking lights on. Does that mean the wire leading to it only works when lights are on? or is it a constant 12V? What color wire did you use to put a LED in the door handle, i have automatic door locks. I wanted to tap into the wire that supplies the light in the button to light up.There seems to be a ground wire and about 5 others. What color is the one for the lights in the door locks? Thanks Matt

I'm not sure about how the power supply works, but it's just a green ring that has a light bulb behind it that lights it up. You'd probably have to change out the whole ring, or try and do some color combinations to get a different color out of it.

im just looking for a power supply in that area that is alive when the parking lights are turned on, not to change colors, i have better ideas for that space

If the cig lighter doesn't have a switched power, but rather a switched ground, the radio will certainly have a switched power.

There's always the option of adding a relay off the headlight switch wherever you want it.
God graced us with intelligence, let's use it.

Its the purple wire and I think it has a yellow stripe on it on the door lock harness plug and of course tap the ground wire into the black wire.. Its the only purple wire. I did mine about 3 weeks ago and i'm very pleased with them.

I finally did it, the wire in my car was orange or dark red with a yellow stripe. Looks really good, very bright.

I think you might need to do my interior on the SVT! I get nervous thinking about ripping it up and splicing into wires! lol.
