Price = $58

Sensitivity = 94.5dB

Power Handling = 250w RMS

It's just a very cheap way to put some bass in your system. It should sound good powered by only 50w or so. It rolls off pretty close to the BP1001 in a sealed enclosure.

BTW, it also performs much better in a ported enclosure, and reaches into the low twenties. It's just freakin' huge at 5ft^3. eek

Whatever you do, don't buy a diamond audio subwoofer. My friend has one and it sounds like crap compared to my pwd 254(mb quart). ALso, the seal has blown once, the coil has blown once, and something esle blew on it.....she is on her 4th diamond audio sub under warranty....she just got an eclipse and said screw diamond audio

try an Xtant A10" sub they rate 350 watts and use about 1ft cubed in a single ported box. They are MTX's high end for all around sound. Not just SPL.

They went for sensitivity.

In any sub you can have 2 of the following.

Small Box
Low freq extension
Effeciency

Dayton decided to concentrate on a small box with high effeciency and thus, lost deep bass. But with cabin gain, it would still produce very deep bass.

that blueprint 1002 in a sealed box looks like a really good option. are they 4 ohm or 8 ohm?

the search is over. i just got a pair of Alpine SWE-1014 10" Type-E subs for $120 including shipping. since they retail for $100 each, i thought this was a decent deal.

.6 cuft per speaker and i'm sure i'll be happy.

still bidding on another MRV-F250 amp to power them....

thanks for your help!
