Check your local retitling laws, first. I'm not sure how strict they are in your state, but they're psycho in Pennsylvania.

I've got a salvage-titled Mystique that's just chillin' in the driveway until I move back to Texas in a few months - Down there, as long as your car isn't on fire, it's probably legal.

Judging from regular annual inspection.. Pennsylvania failed me because of having bad wiper blades. In Texas, I was passed with a car that doesn't have an exterior doorhandle on the driver's side. If they're obnoxious about those things in your state, I wouldn't bother. Unless you have a friend.

1995 Mercury Mystique - The $280 Wondercar. Sold for $96. 1996 Toyota Camry LE - At least it ran. 1988 Ford Bronco Custom - Chock full of get-up-and-slow. 1996 Taurus Wagon LX - In loving memory. *sniff*

Sub 50k Contours are still to be had as I just got a 1998 with a salvage title with only 23K on the Odo for $1700. Its was hit on the passager side when I bought her and $1500 later you cant tell that she was ever wrecked.I hope that she'll last me through college( its a Ford, so it will)
