See Haynes manual 2B-4 figure 4.6 that is how you want yours to look.

The mark on the pulley has to be aligned with the mark on the engine front cover as shown.
If you look close at the pulley you will see a keyway above the bolt holding the pulley on, that is how you measure the 11 o clock position.


The keyway should be at 11 o clock when marks B and C are aligned.

It sounds like you have it right.
