I would vote for the Kenwood tornado subs. 2 for $119 (10") and $129 (12"). I've had the blue ones (10") in a sealed box (.88 cu ft each) for a while now, and I love them. No distortion and they are great in a small sealed box. BTW, each is being powered by a RF 120@2 (120W mono RMS) amp. I would say they are closer to a SQ sub than a SPL sub though, but they can definetely get loud...not sure what you are looking for. Good luck with your hunting.
