Keep an eye on your oil level for awhile though. If you leave Valvoline you will be getting a different additive package (though most likely weaker unless you use a diesel spec oil) which could clean other items that your current oil cant.
When I switched to Royal Purple from Mobil 1 in November, I was shocked to see that I had lost a half quart at 3000, refilled it and at 6000 it was still on the full mark. The guy at the store said he noticed similar drops when he switched his Ranger over to it.
