Chuck that is correct...But wait....I did some checking the ECT coolant temperature sensor does control the converter clutch. If they told you to replace the coolant sensor, then I would replace this first. This is the one for the computer ECT not the one for the temperature gauge. It is located on your water crossover tower if you have a V6.
