I guess I am really at a crossroads in regards to this transmission. I have already replaced the VSS and the gear selector switch. I will contact the transmission shop to find out if they meant the collant sensor or the transmission fluid temperature sensor. If it is the fluid sensor, I am not sure I want to spend the $200.00 and HOPE it is the problem. The car "slips" badly between 3rd and 4th. And when you go up a hill it hunts back and forth and then goes "bam" and the whole car shakes and it shifts in to some gear. I am thinking about a rebuilt transmission since the car has only 56,000 documented miles. Does anyone know a good online transmission rebuilder? I have been looking at phoenixhardparts.com online. I am assuming if I make this investment it will be a good car like my other Contours. I am also located in Southern California, and does anybody have any transmission shop reccomendations that would install a transmission?
