I would not pay that much. I purchased a 4 year old S-10 with only 40,000 miles for $500. I brought it home and replaced the engine for $400. The person who owned the truck used water instead of antifreeze and the engine block cracked when the water froze. I drove it for a while. It was a nice truck with Air Conditioning and everything. I then sold the truck and the person who purchased it has put more than 100,000 miles on the s-10 with no problems. If you keep watching and waiting you will find a good deal.
