Racing is bad for you. It hurts your morale, pride and wallet. And from a roll alot of cars can keep up with each other...only real cars can pull away. I mean think about it 195 mhp isnt impressive anymore...dont get me wrong I've owned my share of cars and I love my csvt but its not even close to an answer even for some pos civics.granted NA it can spank a civic like a rotten stepchild but any ricer with some money in it(spent right) can embarass 90% of us. Now we can do the same things as them to our rides but with less choice and more price. Besides in NY if they catch you racing well....they now own your ride

My brother got a AWD Talon (91). Put down $4K total (car, new Japanese engine, clutch, mods) and the car runs LOW 13s/high 12s.....Stock (well not really open K&N and ricer muffler) it ran 14.3 with a slipping clutch.....there is no way a typical modded SVT could run with one unless he had turbo.....or a 3L.

Oh, you don't have to tell me that the gsx will spank and SVT...I test drove one before I bought my SVT the past summer. Too bad it wasn't in better shape or I would be driving it now. Any ways, like I said my buddy's car is the 16V, 4 cycl (looks like he has a chip, exhaust and AEM intake which won't do him a ton of good) w/o turbo and he thinks I can beat him, but since he is new to the whole car stuff he might think he has a chance so maybe I can talk him into racing for his DVD player and LCD screen that he got for free with the car when he bought it

Actually I've raced several stock GS-Ts, 2 at the track and one on the street. At the track they got outta the hole better than me but I reeled them in after that. So to me that means I would woop them from a roll. I mean they were young guys and probably couldn't shift, but for them to run the best time of 10.4 in the 1/8th is weak for stock GS-T.

He's absolutely right, the 14b in the 1g AWD will woop some ass for a small amount of dough. 1st Gen DSMs are awesome in my opinion.

Then we get into the 3g and the V6s are some nice competition. There's a little overview on Eclipses for ya.

i've never raced a gs-t from a roll yet, just a awd.
a stock 1g gst I doubt a stock csvt could reel in. They weigh around 150lbs less and have the same hp, but 35lbs more of torque and a turbo that pulls till 6500rpm's.
A 2g with the baby penis turbo that dies after 5500, I could see a csvt pulling begining in 3rd gear.
P2 91 tsi awd, not stock
P3 98 CSVT, stock

I've hung with/pulled about half a car length on 4 95+ gs-t's and glued myself to the bumper of one 1g gsx...all at the track,of course. It's all a driver's race stock vs stock.
