Well, I can't mount upside up right now...
But there is a gap between the deck and the amp that allows air to flow, it's a good inch space, however the cooling fins upside down is a good point to consider.....
Well, if it fries then so be it. I'll just go back to the factory set up and kiss the $ goodbye.....

why not just temporarily set in on the floor? so what if you lose a little trunk space for a few days

I had my amp mounted upside down in the SVT for over 2 years with never a problem, even in the 100+ degree heat. Alot has to do with the individual amp being used.

I think it'll be okay. Like I said, there is a big gap between most of the amp and the deck. That should allow proper air circulation.
I guess I could break out the old thermodynamics/heat transfer book and figure out what the heating rates are and see if that goes over the manufactures specs, but then I'd be CRAZY from all the funky math you have to do for such a complex surface...
