Heya Everyone,
Is anyone else noticing that other people are AIMING their car doors and bumpers at your car lately? I have had my black SVT since September 98, and all that time, prior to the past 6 months, I have had only minor dings and dents by other drivers. However!!! In the past 6 months, I have had both bumpers scratched from one side to the other, a door gouged, and my passenger side keyed... WTF!!!!! It's not like I'm parking any differently, (Or, if anything, I am parking more out-of-the-way because of these futher muckers) it just seems that people have targetted my car? I haven't made any new enemies lately... and most of my old ones don't know where I live... hrmmm.
The good side... or maybe... is that I spent an hour in a parking lot waiting for the the bugger who gouged my car, and got his information... so he WILL pay for my damages... It's funny how he initially denied it, but his passenger (who actually let the wind take the car door and slam it into my car) finally fessed up to it... We'll see...
Has anyone else noticed phenomena?
Cheers, Tom

I had the word 'puto' scratched on my trunk by a former co-worker a couple years ago... other than that, no purposeful or accidental scratches or dings apart from the usual debris, though I live in a rather un-populated area. Sorry to hear of your bad luck. They are probably just jealous or they assume an SVT to be a granny car like that thing they call the Mysteek or however it's spelled I'd better go now, the beer is starting to work.

Im stunned to read your horrible story! I always park away from heavy parking lots. Though, I enjoy parking next to handicap parking because I can always park a little over to the left. This way no one can put on a dent on the right side of the car. I remember about a year ago when I first purchased my Jeep I was taking a nap in my car while my wife was shopping. Suddenly a bang woke me up. It was a family with a little girl who opened her door too wide and make a small scratch on my brand new Jeep! I was furious about it and I told the parents they should tell her daughter to be more careful next time! They were ignoring me and rushing off. I started writing their license plate and the father came out of the car and lended me $60. hahaha.. Go figure. If youre there when the incident happens you can always do something about it but if not..theres nothing none of us can do.

Absolutely, you HAVE to park far away from other cars or you'll get dinged. This is especially true if you knauberized. If you park way out at the edge of the lot, you almost never have to worry (until the gardeners come around with those big gas-powered blowers and blow dirt and leaves and paper cups and grit all over your car.)

As any of the SD guys can attest to, my car has taken quite a beating since I got it. Door dings all over and a couple of dents. Hell, I even had a big chunk of paint chipped off my front bumper by a tire tread on the highway recently. I had a paint-less dent removal guy come by my work yesterday and he saw my car and licked his lips He took out a couple dings, but said the rest would need body work
